Tonsillitis

Tonsillitis is when the tonsils at the back of your throat become swollen due to a viral or bacterial infection. Acute bacterial tonsillitis is less common than viral, but can be associated with pain or difficulty swallowing, a very high fever, and other symptoms requiring antibiotic treatment.
