Shingles

Shingles is an infection that causes a painful, blistering (bubbly) rash in specific parts of the body. It is a complication of a previous chicken pox infection. Months or years after the initial infection, the virus, which has been dormant in certain nerves, awakens and begins to attack parts of the skin that are served by those nerves the virus had affected.
