Acute Schistosomiasis

Schistosomiasis, also known as bilharzia, is an infection caused by a parasitic worm that lives in fresh water in subtropical and tropical regions. The worms aren’t found in the sea, chlorinated swimming pools or properly treated water supplies, and enter the body by burrowing into your skin.
