Heartburn And Gastro-Oesophageal Reflux Disease (Gord)

Heartburn is a symptom of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), where you experience an uncomfortable, burning sensation in the middle of the chest. Acid reflux is when you have stomach acid travelling up in the food pipe (oesophagus or gullet) towards the throat. Frequent bouts of acid reflux happening is known as gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD).
